To me, Green City Force means an opportunity to be the best version of myself. I chose to join GCF because I wanted to make a change in my community while also working towards my goals at the same time. From improving the energy efficiency of homes to providing healthy foods to residents, GCF gave me opportunities to help and be a part of my community in ways I didn’t know I could. Before GCF, I was unsure of what I really wanted to do with my career. Over the course of my term, I’ve come into contact with a variety of different people and jobs – these experiences gave me the resources to make an informed decision on what I wanted to pursue after my term was over. The most important thing I learned during my time with GCF is that there are always opportunities if you put yourself out there – you have to have grit, be proactive, and work hard for what you want to accomplish.
