Green City Force has meant a lot to me in so many different ways. Before this program I was a little lost on what I really wanted to do but being in GCF showed me a lot about working in gardening and hands-on work. I chose to become a Corps Member because I wanted to pursue something different and learn more about the green sector and step outside the box. One day I want to grow a farm on my own and teach my experience to other people and take knowledge that I learned from here everywhere around the world. Before joining GCF I was stuck in the house trying to figure out what trade I wanted to do and how I could step forward and expand my mind to do different things instead of getting stuck in security. From the program, the ABC NCCER training showed me that I actually like plumbing and doing a lot of hands-on work showed me that after this program I will be transitioning into construction or HVAC but mostly plumbing. To the next cohort I wish you the best and I hope you take something from this program and use it in the real world. I want to shout out everyone in this program. I appreciate everyone, we all are human and I know sometimes life gets hard and things are not what you want them to be. I feel like everyone who can just wake up and get out of the bed and come here is strong because we live in a city that doesn’t sleep and it’s hard out here. So I appreciate every staff member, every Corps Member and Fellow and I wish you all nothing but the best. I love whoever loves me. Jicahi signing out.
