GCF was the greatest experience I’ve ever gotten in my adulthood yet the hardest experience. The months I’ve spent here have been some of the most grueling months I’ve had in a very long time. However, I forged new friendships, found new opportunities and learned so much. Personally, none of that was easy at all. Personal experience wise, I got to explore my city including every borough (especially Staten Island, I loved that). I got an introduction into retrofitting as well as green construction including BPI, Energy Audits and NCCER certifications. I’d like to shoutout the whole Cohort 30 for trooping this with me – those that stayed and left. I tip my hat to Aziz, Jerry, Darius, Nijir, Terrence, Orion, Nahara, Me-Chell, Cerenity, Jicahi, and Vi for always holding me down and keeping me on point. Shateese, Chioma, Frances, Shon, Jakhi, and Diamond for helping me make our group cheer and adjust to retrofit cause it wasn’t easy. Can’t forget Chris, Charles, Joseph, Frances, Lexy, and Kayla for the convos. Miriam for bringing the energy. Special shoutout to Danilo and Cheyenne as the Fellows that welcomed me into here. Lastly, staff, I thank Alshawn, Devon, and Hakim for the opportunity. I thank Jacqui, Kitson, Giselle, Luisanna, Sam, Nick, and Kawon for the guidance as well Devante and Chastidy for the leadership. Honestly you all helped me out on this amazing journey to become the person I am now. So to everyone that sees this thank you.
