As I look back on my experience, I struggle to put into words what Green City Force has done for me. Truly, it has been the most fulfilling career field I’ve ever ventured into and the most supportive team I’ve become a part of. I went through a few different careers before settling on urban agriculture, and my only regret is that I didn’t look into it sooner. When my mother sent me the email for Green City Force enrollment, I was slightly skeptical because I didn’t know if I wanted to join the sustainability field. However, during a zoom call info session I learned about GCF alumni and Compost Power founder Domingo Morales and his career story really motivated me. Seeing another resilient man from New York City pull himself up by his bootstraps was just the inspiration I needed to propel me into action.
