Cohort 30

“

Before Green City Force, I worked as a cashier and physician’s secretary, spent a lot of my
free time in the gym, and was unsure about what direction I wanted to take in life. I joined
GCF because I wanted to explore different trades and develop skills before committing to a
career path. Although the program was challenging at times, it pushed me outside my
comfort zone and helped me appreciate the opportunities and resources I have at home. One
of the most valuable things I learned was hands-on mechanical and electrical skills,
including using drills, table saws, pliers, and wire cutters. I also learned how to dress in
business casual, which gave me a major confidence boost and helped me feel more
prepared for professional environments. I’m grateful for the experiences, skills, and lessons I
gained during my time with GCF. I especially want to shout out the down-to-earth staff who
gave genuine advice, helpful tips, and leniency when needed. I didn’t see them as much, but
whenever I did, they were always efficient and helpful. Shout out to Danilo, Izzy, Nick, and
Scotty for that.
