Cohort 16

Vilmarys Roman

I joined GCF because my brother told me that it had a lot of opportunities and chances that I need to build skills to get a job. When I started GCF I had an attitude problem but I learned to control it and that not everything needs a reaction. I thank Precious for dealing with my attitude, since she could have very easily sent me home more than once and did not. I learned a lot about farming, which was fun, and now I know that I want to work at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden one day. I’m interested in horticultural therapy.

To my employer: The important thing you need to know about me is that I love learning new things, specifically about gardening and working with kids.
