From my point of view, Green City Force is defined as a community surrounding intelligent young adults. The program sets out to promote black excellence for its AmeriCorps members and educates them on how to influence their communities to do the same. By involving communities in different boroughs, GCF creates a foundation for individuals such as myself to express themselves more clearly while engaging in discussions with people of different ethnic groups. Although it is our experiences in life that separate us, it is our struggles and hardships that restores our connection to one another. GCF is a gift for those who lack purpose or the will to achieve greatness. The program gives us a profound purpose to become extraordinary, leaving behind the shell that normalizes us. And by doing so, we are more equipped to inspire others.
