Green City Force is a good organization that helped me learn skills like community outreach and how to work and maintain an Eco-Hub site. I was able to get my OSHA and network with new people. I joined Green City Force because I read on the brochure that they help you get into college and you find a job in the green sector. Since I was taking a break from education, my mom brought up that this could be a good opportunity to gain experience by being part of Green City Force. I learned in my time in Green City Force to be open to networking, to gain different opportunities and to have options if you don’t get accepted in the job position. I want to thank Kitson for being there to do my IDP and helping me set goals that better my health and financial security. Anissa for helping me make edits to my resume and cover letter so I land the job and inform me of new job openings. Thank you for giving me guidance about going to a two-year college first then a four-year college. Thank you to my Service Coordinator, Mariatou, and Dom, my Eco-Hub Fellow of the Astoria team, for being there to keep me on track and focused by working hard and pushing me to do more public speaking. Thank you to my mom for helping me to gain experience and meet new people and to get a job.
