Cohort 28

Shannon Herd (he/him)

Green City Force means something to me because I wasn’t too sure about it at first. And as I stayed a part of the program it grew on me. People grew on me and I was feeling decent about showing up every day. I chose to become a Corps Member because I didn’t know where I was at in my life and I needed something to make me feel like I’m going on the right track. Before GCF, I was in and out of situations and problems and after joining I was able to do other things with my time so I wouldn’t get caught in bad situations. The most important thing I learned at GCF is patience. I struggled with patience so much and this program definitely helped me with it. Six months in this program wasn’t easy, but I had a few people that’s a part of GCF that I feel like helped me out to get through the program. I would like to give a shout out to Chastidy, Manuela, Kitson, Devon, Marc, and my Wagner team.
