Joining Green City Force has been one of the most changing experiences of my life. Before becoming a Corps Member, I was working a 9-to-5 job that left me feeling unfulfilled and was repetitive. I knew I wanted to make a difference, but wasn’t sure how to channel that desire into meaningful action. I was drawn to GCF’s mission of environmental justice and community engagement. The idea of combining hands-on work with the opportunity to contribute to sustainable urban development resonated deeply. I became a Corps Member because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and be a part of something larger than myself, something that would allow me to grow personally and professionally while making an impact. The most important lesson I learned was the power of community. The sense of purpose and collaboration we shared as a team taught me that real change happens when people come together with a common goal. This has reshaped my approach to both work and life, emphasizing the importance of working collectively towards a shared vision. I am very grateful to everyone who supported me on this journey. A huge thank you to the GCF staff for their guidance and unwavering support, my fellow Corps Members for their friendship and inspiration, and my family for their encouragement and belief in my potential. Your support has been invaluable, and I carry the lessons learned and memories made with me as I continue to pursue my passion for positive change.
