Before Green City Force, I was at a point in my life where I stayed at home and did nothing productive. I lived the reality of limited options for a high school graduate with no work experience. At one point, I felt that McDonald’s was the only option I had for a job until I came across Green City Force’s flyer. I was drawn to all the opportunities they offered housing residents. I decided to give them a call, and now I am here six months later trying to take advantage of everything they have to offer. Through GCF, I’ve learned a lot about how little things in our lives can sometimes have big impacts; such as how small inefficient light bulbs can have a negative effect on our big planet. Green City Force has been a life changing program for me. Coming from a dark past with a blurry future, GCF has started to put me on the right path in life. These six months have been the best work experience, training trials and tribulations I’ve ever had. For the first time, I served in a work site around professionals. I want to take what I’ve learned from my time here and apply it to where ever I go.
