In my time being in Cohort 28, GCF has been a beneficial experience that helped me develop my abilities in the working industries. I chose to be a Corps Member because I like the idea of being around a natural environment and giving low-income communities a chance to get fresh food. I have always loved nature since I was young and learned a little and studied certain parts of it. So, when I heard about this opportunity that gives me extra credentials and experience to put on my resume that can help me advance through the green sector, I didn’t want to miss it. Before GCF, I was job hunting and trying to get somewhere. I learned a lot from GCF and my fellow Corps Members. I learned about working for a common goal with a group, how to practice sustainability in my day-to-day life, how to be consistent, and a lot more. I’d like to thank my friends I have made throughout the cohort that helped me like in coming to work and trying to get through the day and actually being a team. I also want to thank GCF as a whole for giving opportunities to low-income communities to find a way out.
