Before I joined Green City Force, I had just dropped out of college, and my mom just finished recovering from her second COVID scare. It was a very chaotic time period for me and my family and the only thing I was truly focused on was finding a source of income, which led to me taking the first step towards serving with GCF. This has felt like a big milestone achieved. Before GCF, I never knew there was a farm located at Forest Houses. Working there with the team led by Jelani was one of the most fun experiences and it felt like I was doing my late aunt proud by giving back to the community that she was born and raised in. I just want to thank Jelani, Jason and the OGs at Forest Houses for making me feel like a part of the team and allowing me to give back to a community that is special to my family.
