“You must be the change you wish to see in the world” ~ Mahatma Gandhi. I have always known that I wanted to help others. Just not in a way that I thought would be practical. As a child whenever I was upset about a situation, I would look out my 13 story high window. While viewing the city’s skyline, I would think someone else out there at this very moment has it worse than I do. Thinking of that always made me feel better until I realized I wanted to help those who were in rough situations. Green City Force allowed me to enforce that belief in my life. Many like to stand in front of the crowd and be watched while they make an effort to support the community. We engage services that allow us to help our communities without a spotlight. While helping others, I have also helped myself by improving my essential skills and hard skills. The most vital experience I had was learning how to take leadership and understanding why we need leaders, and it’s the reason I choose to be the change I want to see.
