Cohort 25

Kejean McBride

Green City Force is one of the few job training programs I consider family. I have learned many amazing things and been to many events with members that I consider close to me. I wasn’t really doing much before GCF, but I was searching for jobs. I found out about GCF when I was shown emails about different training programs. GCF was one of those and I thought it would be interesting to serve there. Not only was I interested in serving job training programs outside of my comfort zone, but I was also interested in working with plants. The most important things I learned in GCF are standing in your power, providing for your community, and how to do well at interviews. However, my journey wouldn’t have been completed without a few people. I want to thank my cohort members, my parents and my friends for keeping my head up during hard times, the GCF staff, for supplying me resources to branch out into other jobs, and I also want to thank my 8th Grade teacher for helping me with the required regents to pass 9th grade, which further helped me graduate early. I thank you all very much.
