Cohort 21

My experience with Green City Force is different in a good way and the reason why I say that is because I’d never done farm work a day in my life. So for me to have gone through this journey was something special, that was what GCF meant to me. The reason why I wanted to become a Corps Member for GCF was because I admire the fact that we are trying to better our developments with fresh organic foods so that residents don’t have to rely on supermarkets for healthy food. Before I joined GCF I was in automotive trade school, gaining the knowledge to work with cars, and I also did a little bit of electrical work too. I would say the most important thing I learned from GCF was just the perspective of being the worker/provider for developments that we all worked in. Being able to feed families and brighten up NYCHAdevelopments was awesome to me. People I would thank the most are my Howard team members in general hands down the one of the best groups I’ve been in including the Eco Hub Fellows. Paul brightens my day every time he’s able to be at the farm. And also a big shout out to the Roig Brothers (Matthew/Steven) that’s my dawgs from a far.
