Green City Force is an incredible community where I was given a chance to move forward in life to explore and learn new opportunities that I didn’t know existed, even in myself as a person. I realized that there are skills I’m great at that I had no clue about. I chose to be a Corps Member to better myself and to gain more professional skills and money management. Before GCF I was a cashier at Marshall’s doing retail and making sales but being there didn’t feel right. It felt like there was something better I could do or rather be. Spending 6 months at GCF has taught me to be more aware of what is out there in the world and that you are not going to get what you want if you don’t take risks, make yourself known and connect with the community. There are a lot of us and we need to work together to be the best us, we are all human. To finish this off I want to thank my team and my family and friends who have supported me but most importantly I want to thank myself for putting in the dedicated work and effort to be where I am today.
