Green City Force was an opportunity for me to pursue work that I actually care about and not being stuck in a dead-end job working in a fast food restaurant or a corporate office. The need for work and the desire to further explore the green sector and find more work experience in urban agriculture drew me to this program. Before Green City Force, I was looking for work relating to my Studio Art degree, but sadly I couldn’t find anything. I found Green City Force from a friend and was interested because I worked on an urban farm for the summer and thought I would love the program just as much as my summer job. The most important thing I learned is that it is essential to talk to people and make connections, because one of those connections can lead you to your future.
