Cohort 25

Jeyda Pacheco

I joined Green City Force looking for guidance and a support system that can help me navigate through the most questioning time in my life. Not only did I learn how to be sustainable, but it also taught me valuable hands-on skills, how to think on a grand scale of things and to cherish the little things you find joy and excitement in. It’s important not only to connect with the people around you but with the earth we walk on, your mind and body, and the community you’re around. I’ve met some of the most interesting, kind-hearted, thoughtful, hard-working people working here which make this work as enjoyable as it is fulfilling to grow fresh produce from the seeds to harvesting it and directly handing it out to the community. GCF will forever be a key part of my journey and will be an experience that I will never get tired of telling just to see the look on people’s faces when I tell them I was a farmer in the projects.
