When I hear Green City Force, I instantly feel a connection with the name and action behind such a structured program as this one. This program meant a second chance for me to showcase what I’m capable of doing in my community. I was able to use the resources available to shape my future endeavors, while finding out what makes me happy and unique. The reasons I chose to become a Corps Member stem from the feeling I had of working dead-end jobs and seeing it was hard to advance without proper education. My decision to go back to school was sudden and not completely thought out, but I knew I needed to make room for change. Here at Green City Force I was able to reignite my passion of owning my own business and see that it is possible to achieve my goals. The most important thing I learned during my time at Green City Force is that dreams are never over, rather we must work just as hard as we dream. This means so much to me because I always felt like I had great ideas, but I never put any work towards supporting them. Now I feel like I’m on the right path to where I want to be career-wise. The best part of Green City Force was having a team of supportive people behind us wanting us to succeed. I would like to thank the Staff for the opportunities and support they provided throughout these six months. I would like to thank my mother for being my inspiration on days I felt like I couldn’t continue.
