GCF has had a huge impact on me. Their mission aligns with my personal values, and the hands-on work environment was exactly what I needed, especially since I prefer physical labor to office work. GCF quickly became more than just a job; it felt like a family and a support system during a time I really needed it most. Joining GCF helped me realize that a career in the green sector could be a perfect fit for me. It showed me which aspects of this field I’m passionate about and helped me identify areas where I need to grow. I learned a lot about myself, especially in terms of my strengths and weaknesses as well as what I need to work on improving to prepare me for a future in the green sector. I learned so much which I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. Before GCF, I was jumping between internships while figuring out my path. My time at LES Ecology Center sparked my interest in urban agriculture, leading me to GCF. The teamwork and hands-on projects at the Eco Hubs felt like the career I wanted for my future and brought me joy and fulfillment. I’ve learned the importance of identifying and working on weaknesses, and how consistency and balance both at work and in life are crucial. I want to thank everyone at GCF, especially Support Services, my Service Coordinator, Rosana, and my cohort. You’ve all played a big role in my growth, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of this community.
