Before Green City Force, I was a train performer and a UPS driver helper. It was an easy way to make money, but when I was done with my work week I would wonder, ‘what did I REALLY accomplish?’ Then one day, I read an e-mail about a program called Green City Force. I was drawn to the educational award, because I wanted to go back to college but I still owed money from previous classes I had dropped. Now after completing the program, I can say I have received far more than the educational award. I was exposed to so many opportunities that my previous jobs could never have offered me. I received certifications and networked with individuals I never thought I would have met otherwise. I am very grateful for what the staff of GCF has given my fellow Corps Members and me. I wish the future cohorts much luck.
