What Green City Force means to me is a lifestyle. To me it’s sustainability, it’s a career, it’s equity, food, and freedom, and a chance for not just one but for all. I chose to join and serve with GCF for personal growth and development purposes. The most important thing that I’ve learned during my service term is to always have grit because without it we’re just walking empty shells without a purpose and working for another. Finding my why every single day has gotten me up more than I can say for just a single word question. I have seen the errors in my ways through the coaching from my Service Coordinator and the rest of the staff. But more importantly, I like to thank Nasyah, Hakim, Justin, Marc and Devon; at times I wasn’t the easiest to work with because I used to like doing things alone, but they gave me nothing but patience and changed my point of view – now I can’t think of anything better than working with a team like HOWARD.
