Before Green City Force I was looking to be a part of something bigger than myself, a great cause to overcome a great endeavor that would bring people together and bring out the best in them. I found Green City Force. Now that I’ve completed my term, I’ve learned and done so much in a short amount of time: from learning things about agriculture, knowing what to recycle and what cannot be recycled, and how a bunch of organic waste can turn into compost. I did things that I would not have thought I would be capable of doing, such as doing outreach and having a deep conversation with strangers about who we are as Green City Force and our cause. I had fun and enjoyed learning but most importantly, serving my community.
Green City Force was exactly what I was searching for. But none of this would be possible without the amazing recruiting staff who gave me this opportunity in the first place, so many thanks to Wesley, Precious, Rosalba, Melissa, and Stephanie.
