Green City Force has been a great opportunity for me. Before Green City Force I didn’t have any knowledge of how my everyday lifestyle and decisions can impact my environment and community. Green City Force took a kid from Seth Low Houses in Brownsville Brooklyn who wasn’t doing anything positive, to coating roofs, reducing the amount of carbon going into the air, and lowering the temperature of the top two floors of each building coated by 3 to 5 degrees. It amazes me every day how I went from running the streets to doing energy audits and educating people just like me on how to be more energy efficient in their homes. Green City Force has done more than just educate me and give me a stipend – it has motivated me to become a voice in my community, and has saved my life.
