Before Green City Force, I was attending the Borough of Manhattan Community College for
accounting. During my break from BMCC, I was searching for a job to help me pay my way
through school. I saw a Green City Force flier which provided college prep and an Ed- Award
that would help me return and finish my education. Coming to this program was one of the
best decisions I made. I’m leaving with the knowledge that’s going to lead us into a more green
and sustainable future. The most important thing I learned in GCF was energy efficiency. Not
only is energy efficiency going to change the economy, it’s going to help our environment and
lower carbon emissions, which contribute to global warming. My plan after Green City Force is
to finish school with my degree, then get a job in the accounting field in the green economy.
