Green City Force has meant a lot to me because it allowed me to develop as a professional and made me truly ready for the world. Before Green City Force, I was in a cabling trade school that I got kicked out for being late 5 times. This left me devastated and lost but I found GCF just in time. The support system has helped me a lot – shoutout to Jhanay and Rebeca for helping me with my mental health and career goals. The most important thing I learned is that there are green sector jobs in the city and I like doing it. When you’re in school, being an urban gardener isn’t something that is pitched to students as a job but because of GCF it opened my eyes and now I want to pursue a career in the green sector. I’m going to get my degree in environmental science because of the program – I literally can’t repay them for this. I found my passion.
