Green City Force was an opportunity to develop new skills while assisting the community. Creating space for everyone to flourish and allowing us to coexist with similar passions or drive. Being a Corps Member allowed me to meet new people, improve as an individual and harness new strengths. Being part of a team allowed me to build a special dynamic with others learning to collaborate with others on various tasks and assignments. Before this program, I was working on a few holiday jobs. I learned that the connections we make are unbreakable and progress is not measured by how much you do but how much you grow. I would like to thank all the staff for providing so many resources and would like to personally thank those who let me lean on them when I was struggling the most. Nasyah never gave up on me; Nick, Sade, and Joseph always shared their wisdom; my family, who encouraged me to keep going; Ezekiel and Faith never thought twice when I was at my lowest point in life and brought light to my darkest days.
