Cohort 25

Amoria Berger

Green City Force has meant to me pushing ahead no matter what’s going on around you. I chose to become a Corps Member with GCF for the experience and new opportunities. I also wanted to challenge myself and do something out of my comfort zone or not the typical job I’m used to. Before I started GCF I was working at AHRC getting my food handler’s license, taking college courses, and selling candles and plates of food. The most important thing I learned is there is a lot of stuff we can’t control, but it is completely in our power to decide what the definition of a good job is. That’s up to us. I also learned many useful soft and hard skills that I can use for future jobs and a career. I’d like to thank Kaylah, Milanii, and Steve. I’d like to thank them for motivating me and pushing me ahead when things got hard and never giving up on me. Their support means so much and I truly appreciate them. I’d like to thank my mother for always being my backbone and holding me up and keeping me focused. And supporting me through this journey and everything else.
