Cohort 20

Alyssa Perez

Green City Force has been an amazing opportunity for me to develop my interpersonal
and communication skills, expand on career goals and network with a collective of professionals
that have helped me through my term of service. I would have to say one of the most valuable
life lessons I’ve learned is to be nonjudgmental and empathetic, to be understanding or at least
perceptive of the struggles other individuals are facing without there being an outright mention
of hardships. Before joining the program, I was stuck at home, unemployed and unmotivated to
change my circumstances. However, now I’m on my way to completing a monumental chapter
of my life and moving on to greater things with the continuous support staff and Corps Members
alike. For helping me to stay hopeful and work hard, I’d like to thank my service coordinator
Precious Colon for her dedication to the Forest Farm team and my experience at Green City Force.
