Green City Force meant change to me. Change for the greater good. As someone who has always been passionate about social issues, there has always been a need to help out the community. I wanted to support and show love to the community that gave me a home. A home for so many people. A home that had been trashed, disregarded and disrespected by everyone, even those who live in that home. Green City Force was the perfect opportunity to do just that. Not only did it allow me to help out the community, but it also created an even stronger drive to do more for my people. The amount of effort and hard work that was put into it by me and other corps members-past, present, and future-has tremendously helped to push NYCHA and its residents into a more favorable direction. I want to continue that work.
