Rosana de León

Rosana de León

Service Coordinator

Growing up in a family of farmers, Rosana developed an early curiosity for cultivating food and living in harmony with the land. While grieving the loss of her grandparents, her ancestral roots inspired her to explore horticulture and environmental stewardship.

As a proud alumna of Cohort 22 at Green City Force, and a current Service Coordinator, she has and continues to sharpen her skills in urban farming, community engagement, and youth development. During her service term as a Corps Member, she co-founded the Wellness Warriors initiative within Green City Force, providing a weekly safe space for Corps Members to heal, learn, and reclaim wellness in black and brown communities. After graduating from Green City Force, Rosana stepped into the role of a Horticulture Educator in the Kingsbridge Bronx community. She oversaw three gardens where she grew food but also created curricula on food justice, nutrition, and sustainable practices. She firmly believes urban agriculture creates stronger communities and provides an aid to an otherwise unjust food system.

On her days off, you’ll find Rosana spending time with her family, exploring community gardens, or hiking local trails. Also, she strongly believes brussel sprouts can be delicious when seasoned just right!
