Melinda Ruiz serves as the Special Assistant to the Executive Director at Green City Force. Prior to being hired as a staff member, Melinda began her GCF journey serving as an AmeriCorps member in our 4th Cohort back in January 2012. During Melinda’s AmeriCorps term of service, she joined a group of young adults working together on community outreach, spreading the word about various energy efficiency programs which provided home and small business owners across NYC with free to low cost energy retrofits. Born and raised in NYC, Melinda feels proud and honored to be able to work for an organization that has directly, positively impacted her life through service, while continuing to provide opportunities and a space for young folks across NYC to thrive.
