Alshawn Williams is the Recruitment and Outreach Associate at Green City Force, where he is using his prior experience of community engagement to connect NYCHA residents to our green mission. Previously, he worked in the energy field where he helped reduce the energy strain on NYC’s power grid from working with great companies like Willdan and Franklin Energy/Con Edison. He is now shifting his aim and focusing on youth development and partnership building within Green City Force to NYCHA communities. Alshawn has always been a huge advocate for “eating green” off of NYCHA grounds and plans to educate himself and others on why controlling the source of your food is important.
