Mariatou Coulibaly

Service Coordinator

Mariatou Coulibaly joins Green City Force with a BA in Africana Studies, Anthropology, and Sociology from Lafayette College. As a Bronxite and Posse Scholar, Mariatou was inspired by her unique background to become a global citizen who amplifies multicultural voices within academic and public institutions. Beginning at the Brooklyn Museum, Mariatou partnered with curators to design curricula that encouraged students to use art to examine social injustices.

As an undergraduate student, Mariatou partnered with Lafayette’s Initiative for Malagasy Education to collaborate with Fulbright researchers to equip students with the academic and intercultural competencies needed to excel at American universities. Eager to continue her connection with international communities, Mariatou traveled to India, South Africa, and Argentina where she joined activist organizations to further understand and research worldly health systems and public administration efforts. Mariatou is excited to join GCF as a Service Coordinator to embolden Black youth and combat NYC’s environmental injustices.

Mariatou now lives in the Bronx and enjoys exploring Black diasporic arts and cultures across the city.
