Cash brings a strong commitment to environmental justice, sustainability, and community engagement to GCF. They are experienced in urban farming and environmental education, with a focus on supporting marginalized communities. Their drive blossomed during the pandemic where they began urban farming at a Black-led and Black-centered homestead focused on food sovereignty in Vermont (but Cash is a proud multi-generational Harlemite!) Through COVID, they grew food and made plant medicine to address immediate community needs. Cash is now doing similar work at GCF as a land steward, community member, and mentor hoping to continuously empower themselves and others to get their hands dirty and return to the practice of feeding each other and the planet. They consider themselves a lifetime learner and will continue to chase indigenous and ancestral knowledge of land stewardship. When Cash is not working they are desperately trying to support orphaned baby squirrels as a Wildlife Rehabilitator.
