Aliyah Patterson

Eco-Hub Coordinator

As a two-time Green City Force alumnus, Aliyah began her journey as an urban farmer through GCF and recognized what it takes to facilitate ecological and community health through plants, youth development, and land stewardship. In this work, their passion for growing culturally relevant produce, the healing potential of green spaces, and culinary education are united.

Outside of service, they continue to seek opportunities to cultivate safe spaces for both habitat and local communities, and empower themselves and young people through food and developing their relationship to NYC’s ecological landscape via other eco-rehabilitation projects within NYCHA developments and beyond. They hope to be a forever student and continue to learn from land stewards around the globe about the importance of environmental and culinary education, and how uncomplicated food sovereignty can be.
