Cohort 29

Praisia Ortiz (they/them)

Green City Force means quite a lot to me, it gave me something to do, gave me purpose, goals to strive for and to not stay stagnant like I was prior. I didn’t have much going on before this, just lived life day by day and saw where it took me. Tomorrow’s never promised and I wanted to get up and do something meaningful; basically, to leave my mark on the world. I want to give thanks to both my parents for their constant unwavering support – my mom, for being that push I needed to apply myself to something greater, if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be where I am right now at GCF; and my dad for constantly being on site at Forest, his presence was always appreciated. Final thanks to all the staff and Corps Members of C29 that gave me their support. It’s been a long six months and I’ll always be eternally grateful for the real bonds that were made during this time. I hope to see you all again someday soon! Y’all ain’t getting rid of me that easily.
