Green City Force gave me a chance to serve my community and re-enter the workforce after taking a year off to have my baby. It introduced me to new people and opportunities beyond the Bronx. I chose to join GCF to serve, do good work, and be part of one of the best AmeriCorps programs in my city. Before GCF, I was in college and advocating for CUNY and SUNY budget increases in Albany. I learned about sustainability and careers related to my major. The most important thing I learned at GCF is that consistency and patience help you overcome challenges and grow through teamwork.
