Cohort 29

Donovan Murray (he/him)

Green City Force has been a life-changing experience for me, teaching me discipline, timeliness, and professionalism, but I believe the most important thing I’ve learned is about community and accepting the generosity of others. I chose to become a member to improve myself. I was in a bad place financially and mentally. I needed something to do, but more importantly, I wanted to make my immediate family proud. Prior to the program, I was only doing freelance dishwashing for schools and writing on books that I hope to publish by the end of the year. I would like to thank my Service Coordinator, Chastidy Walker, for always being optimistic, even on her lowest days, she still remained a beacon of energy that uplifts my spirits no matter what. And most of all, the entire Wagner team. We’ve formed a bond unlike any other, sharing laughs and joy among other things. I’m sure wherever they go after this program, it will be productive and full of the same positive energy that was shown since the first day we stepped foot at our respective sites.
