Dear GCF Community,
This Labor Day, we celebrate the workers, trainees and learners, instructors and employer partners who make a stronger, more inclusive economy possible. Every training completed, credential earned, and skill mastered moves our community forward—and opens doors to solid, sustaining careers.
Recently, Cohort 29 Corps Members and 2025 Eco-Hub Fellows have been engaged in various workforce development trainings exploring different career paths:
- TreesNY Citizen Pruner urban forestry and tree care training
- Zero-waste training with GCF alumni-led Compost Power
- Clean energy training with Solar One and RETI Center
- Construction training across the Eco-Hubs
- Food advocacy workshops across the Eco-Hubs
- Mental health first aid training
- Urban agriculture and environmental justice training with GCF alum Chantel Kemp
- Numerous partner site visits including Billion Oyster Project at Governor’s Island and a recent Professional Development day with Eva NYC spanning mock interviews, networking, and resume review
We’re committed to preparing our young adults for in-demand, future-focused jobs and to partnering with employers who value growth, safety, and fair wages.
