Margarett Jolly is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Columbia Tech Ventures, advising cleantech startups on how to establish and grow their businesses. Her professional and personal background provides the technical and policy tools, partnerships, and passion driving innovation for urban infrastructure practices. Margarett’s niches are collaborating with sustainability leaders in developing strategic technology and policy solutions for the grid, its workforce, customers, grid participants and citizens.
She was most recently Director of Demonstration Projects and R&D at Con Edison, soliciting, developing, demonstrating, and scaling technologies and innovative business models. These have included grid and grid edge technologies, customer-facing business models for storage, solar, energy, and electric vehicles, cost management tools, programs designed for low and middle-income customers, and web portals to connect residential and commercial customers with new energy management tools.
She graduated from New York City Technical College in 1993 and The Cooper Union in 1997 with a BE in Mechanical Engineering.
