Shani Bess is the SVP, People Engagement in the Commercial Banking division at HSBC US. She is an operationally focused leader with experience in Financial Services and Sports driven to support organizations in achieving their human capital goals by matching inclusive strategies with executional excellence.

At HSBC, Shani leads the development of culture, progression and employee engagement programs with a passionate focus on sustainability and volunteerism. She is motivated by the desire to help others be at their best while feeling seen, heard and appreciated.

Prior to joining HSBC, Shani held leadership positions at a UK-based financial services startup and honed her Marketing expertise at American Express and the National Basketball Association.

Shani holds a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis and certifications in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University and Leading Innovation from The Executive Leadership Council (ELC).
