This Juneteenth, we continue to honor the resilience and achievements of Black communities throughout history while celebrating the deep connections between land, food, environmental justice, and community power.
Juneteenth reminds us that the pursuit of justice, equity, and opportunity is ongoing, and that building a more inclusive future requires both remembrance and action.
At Green City Force, we see these values reflected every day in the young leaders and communities we serve. Through service, workforce development, and community-led climate action, we are working toward a greener, more equitable city where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
On Saturday, June 20, from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM, NYCHA residents are invited to visit their local GCF Eco-Hub for a variety of fresh, organic produce and community activities – kicking off Juneteenth celebrations across all our Eco-Hubs as well as the first farmstand of the 2026 season! We look forward to celebrating this important holiday with our NYCHA communities and sharing the first harvest of another growing season.
We wish our entire community a meaningful Juneteenth as we reflect, celebrate, and continue the work toward freedom and justice for all.
