Con Edison Vice President of Human Resources
Nicole Leon is Vice President of Human Resources at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., a regulated utility providing electric, gas and steam service in New York. She is responsible for providing leadership and support in the areas of compensation, employee and retiree benefits, health and wellbeing programs, labor relations, and human resources service delivery. Prior to her current role, Ms. Leon served as the director for the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, where she oversaw diversity, equity and inclusion, and affirmative action. In this role, she was responsible for developing and executing diversity strategies, eliminating barriers to inclusion and constantly evaluating equal opportunity efforts. Ms. Leon also monitored compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity policies and antidiscrimination laws related to harassment and retaliation. Ms. Leon joined Con Edison in 2008 as the section manager of Organizational Development. She was responsible for succession planning and career development activities, delivery of leadership training, facilitation of culture change initiatives, and managing various corporate programs.
Ms. Leon is a certified executive coach with a history of leadership roles of increasing responsibility, particularly in the banking industry. Ms. Leon was a 2013 recipient of the YMCA Corporate Achievers in Industry award; 2016 Black Enterprise list of top executives in corporate diversity; Crain’s 2020 Notable Women in Talent; 2021 NY Moves Diversity Leader; 2022 winner of four Stevie Awards for Women in Business – Female Employee of the Year and Social Change Maker – Disability, LGBTIQ, and Race.
