Dear GCF Community,
We have been busy welcoming Cohort 28 Corps Members to the start of their workforce training journeys through orientation and now Service Corps bootcamp in preparation for receiving their AmeriCorps uniforms and Eco-Hub team assignments! We are already so thrilled about their enthusiasm, talent, and grit as they come together to learn about environmental justice, bring about change through service, and grow their green career skills.
We also had a lovely Harvest Fest season last month. Thank you to all the NYCHA community members who joined us for pumpkin picking, carving, and decorating; games; treats; music and dancing; apples and seasonal fall produce from our farmstands! These moments of togetherness in nature and appreciation for the yields of our young adults’ agricultural and community stewardship nourish and sustain us. View photos from the events here!
Faced with challenging times, we are especially thankful for our newest Corps Members of Cohort 28, our alumni, NYCHA communities, partners, supporters, staff, and board – every one of you who, together, are making our #futuregreencity a reality.
As Giving Tuesday (December 3rd), a global day of generosity, approaches, please help to ensure that we have the resources to continue uplifting this next generation of young climate leaders through a tax-deductible donation, big or small. Thank you for acting with us and for deepening support for work you believe in.
In service and solidarity,
GCF
